The Queen: Art and Image

To mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the National Portrait Gallery is bringing together portraits and photographs of Elizabeth II made during her reign. The Queen: Art and Image opens on 17 May 2012. 

As part of the exhibition, Chris Levine’s iconic portrait of the Queen, titled Lightness of Being, was on display alongside works by Gilbert & George, Gerard Richter, and Pietro Annigoni
