Molecule of Light
Vivid Sydney 2026
Chris Levine is set to present Molecule of Light as part of Vivid Sydney 2026.
The renowned annual light festival celebrates creativity, innovation and technology, transforming Sydney over 23 nights by bringing together some of the world’s most boundary-pushing artists, musicians and thinkers, turning the city into a canvas for large-scale artistic interventions.
First shown as an early rendition during the Melbourne Festival in 2015, Molecule of Light appeared in its fully realised form for Levine’s solo exhibition 528 Hz Love Frequency at Houghton Hall in 2021, before travelling to Noor Riyadh in 2023. Its presentation at Vivid Sydney marks a full-circle moment in its return to Australia.
Installed at Walumil Lawns, Barangaroo, Molecule of Light draws viewers into a meditative state where light and sound harmonise with the forces of nature within and around us.
Vivid Sydney 2026 runs from 22 May - 13 June, with the installation on view nightly from 6pm - 11pm.
