Chris Levine sets a Guinness World Record for the longest distance covered by a laser light in a show with his installation Higher Power at the 2024 Noor Riyadh Festival.
The 1kW laser projected from the top of the 267-meter Al-Faisaliah Tower in the four cardinal directions, spanning Riyadh’s skyline and encoding the Arabic word “Salam” (peace) in Morse code. A notable achievement for both Noor Riyadh and Levine, Higher Power highlights his ongoing exploration of light and his continued push to redefine the boundaries of contemporary art.
