Art D'Égypte

On October 26th 2024, Chris Levine unveiled Quadrivium, the first work from his latest series "The Divine Intelligence of the Sun", at Art D'Égypte's annual exhibition "Forever is Now".

Quadrivium is the ancient study of arithmetic, geometry, astronomy and sound. Based on Plato’s writings, Pythagoreans believed that the quadrivium was essential for understanding the universe. The Giza Plateau is founded on numbers that demonstrate profound insight into the physics of reality.

Some modern theories have noted the significance of the Great Pyramid in relation to this quadrivium and how all four of these studies can be applied to it. Levine’s artwork of the same name is an extrapolation of this theory. An artwork that tracks the Sun, Quadrivium is designed based on astronomical ratios and numbers derived from the Great Pyramid of Khufu. Each element is scaled to the ancient cubit and proportionally echoes the dimensions and angles of the Great Pyramid, integrating them with the sacred geometry of Metatron’s Cube. This is significant to Levine’s practice and has been applied mathematically to the argue that the Pyramid's geometry can be derived from Metatron’s Cube.

Quadrivium unites and explores the spiritual, sacred, and mathematical discourse as a celebration of the wisdom and mastery of the ancient Egyptians, as expressed in the design and construction of the Great Pyramid at Giza - one of the most sacred sites on Earth.
