Houghton Festival

2025

Chris Levine is set to present three major light installations at Houghton Festival 2025, marking his return to the estate following his acclaimed solo exhibition 528Hz Love Frequency at Houghton Hall in 2021.

The centrepiece, Full Beam, transforms a floating chrome VW campervan into a kinetic laser sculpture of waveforms across the lake. Alongside this, a powerful new iteration of Higher Power will arc across the festival site and surrounding landscape, while a new rendition of Levine's signature Light is Love "blipvert" invites audiences to experience meditation through motion.

"I have a lot of affection for Houghton Hall and its grounds since my 528Hz Love Frequency show there a couple of years ago --it's a very special place for me. Being invited back to create work for the festival felt right. Its connection to nature and the holistic balance of music and art resonate strongly with what my work is all about. Lord Cholmondeley has curated some truly epic shows, and Houghton Hall has become one of the country's leading art destinations. Alongside the high levels of creativity and innovation Craig Richards has built into the festival, it's an honour to be back and to crank it up this year. Houghton has really come of age - you can expect the unexpected, and know it will be exceptional."   Chris Levine
